IMR 4064

I found out this weekend that Varget works great in 30-06. Win primer 47.1 grn of Varget with Hornady 165 BTSP fired from a stock Stevens 200 with a bushnell 3-9 printed a 3 shot at 100 yards that measured 0.684 ctc. From a crappy set of media filled bags stacked on. Boxes, in a downpour.

I "hear" all kinds of stuff on the internet. Based on the Varget and IMR-4064 I have on hand, neither is shot-cut.

IMR powders are made in Canada and Varget in Australia by ADI then relabeled as a Hodgdon product.

I heard or read somewhere that I would be the starting quarterback for the Patriots on Sunday. :D

Fifty years ago in Norwalk, CT I purchased my fist pound of powder and it was DuPont's IMR 4064, $2.75 full retail.

I still use this excellent powder today.

Yes indeed, $2.75/lb for powder in 1963. Gasoline was about $0.25/gallon and a really nice house was $20K. Too bad I only made $407 per month back then. Funny thing though, money seemed to go farther back then. $100 bucks bought a pretty darn nice rifle.

I've used IMR 4064 in my 30-06 steel shooting fun gun for ten yrs, doesn't meter that great but I like it! dogdude

But if you're using a Chargemaster metering of this and most extruded powders is a non-issue.
