I know this is an old thread but recently came across some of the paper work that accompanied my Remington 40-XC in 7.62 NATO (as stamped on the 24" SS barrel). I even have the sales invoice for what I paid for it nearly 4 decades ago including "Transportation and Shipping" charges. It came with an "Owner's Manual" that included a schematic and 'parts list' that listed in addition to 'part number', and 'name of part' a 'Price List'
Does anyone or anybody want to guess what the price for part number 15810 was? That was Remington's designation for the "Models 40XR-40XC Bolt Action Target Rifles" receiver.
Included in the box with the rifle was a target that had two 5 shot groups that averaged .49" and the load was 37 grains of 3031 behind a 168 grain "Match Bullet".
