I'm ready for a custom built rifle

Well almost ready. I want a custom built 6mmBr what do I need to know about getting one built,for example barrel length, rifling twist and how may lands and groove etc, etc. and also need type of action and all other good things. I know its a lot to ask.

Its for long range target shooting.

Here is good advice. Pick the gunsmith one that has built the type of rifle you are looking for and tell him to build it if it was his rifle. He probably knows more about it tham most shooters. If you want to buy the parts your self ask him what he would use. Also if you look at prices that smiths charge they are all with in a few dollars of each other for the labor. The bigger names will probably will take longer to build one. If you are lucky and the barrel you get will be a one hole one. It is all luck of the draw.

Too much of a open ended question, like asking 'I wanna race cars'.

What's long range? If only shooting to 600, a 6BR is fine. If you're going to a 1000, you'd be better served with a BRX or a Dasher.

I like a gunsmith that is close to me, within 2hr for myself. I may be lucky to have 4 with in that range.

For long range shooting the 8 twist would be the only way to go.

Any of the top barrel are the same. I have one from most of them. For me, it is who has a barrel that I can get fast. You can find barrels and actions at places like Bruno's etc

Actions- I would go for Bat if I had a choice.

Go to smoe long range matches and see what they are shooting. This is a good place to pick up a good used gun, but don't be in a rush to get the first thing you see.
