I'm not getting email notifications when someone replies to a post

Hi Guys,
for some reason I'm not getting email notifications when someone replies to a post that I'm following. This started happening after the forum upgrade. Am I supposed to do something to restore this feature?

Thanks,

Joe

I do and it "bothers" my wifey. Of course, I don't say anything about the 50 emails I get about the latest clothing deal. I'm not too computer savvy so all I can say is "Good Luck". Maybe check your login/ profile data. I agree. It got screwed up when we changed to this alternate universe.

Click on your username in upper left...then go to preferences and check the appropriate boxes.

Thanks Gene,
I appreciate your help. I have already checked there and I still don't receive notices. I checked my spam folder on my computer and the mail server, so I'm stuck. Oh well....

I'm surprised. Hopefully Forum Boss will chime in.

I have all the alerts checked on "alert preferences".

I had an issue with the time zone when the forum updated, but not preferences.

Under the prior forum software, I was following around 30-35 discussions and promply getting email notifications of all new posts in those threads. I was also following the three "For Sale" areas for any and all new topics starting with email notifications.

All those selections along with some other choices set up in my personal profile and a lot of my PM's disappeared when they felt the need to go to another forum software. It has been a pain in the arse trying to set it all up again and the PM's that disappeared are probably gone forever.

Anyway, your notifications probably didn't migrate across and you will have to set them all up again if you can remember or find all the threads you had tagged.

Regards...

Here's a screen capture of my Alert Preferences maybe you guys can see something that I'm missing. I'm still not getting any notifications.

seems on this software an alert is a littler red number up the top right corner of your screen, over & to the right of where Alerts is printed.

Open your Preferences not your Alert preferences...that is where you will check the box to receive emails.

I think this might fix it for you.

Go to each thread you wish to follow and click Follow Thread. You can watch entire forums by clicking Watch Forum at the top of each forum.

On the Your Account page, click Watch Threads on the left hand side. Click Enable email notification and click Go. (If you are not watching any threads, you will need to click Show all watched threads to get the option to come up to enable the email notification.)

Same directions apply if you click Watch Forums.

Always a second way to skin a cat of course. Also from the Your Account page, under the Settings header, click Preferences. (This is also where you change your time.) Check the box next to Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply... and also check the box next to and receive email notifications of replies. Then click Save Changes. (This won't email you about watched forums though. You have to turn that on the other way.)

You need a valid email account entered on the Contact Details page of course.
