I'M COMPLETELY UNABLE TO GO SHOOTING!

If I had 150 acres I would have packed up and gone there by now. Pick up a small camper or a larger tent, some camping gear, food, water and get your behind gone. Perfect solitude, no contact + no virous.
Bring the basics beans, potatoes, some canned veggies and plenty of ammo for meat hunting. Don't forget you fishing gear.
Stop complaining you have what most of us can only dream about, so do something about it.
That's funny, you make it sound so easy. I have done all of it for many years,it's not as simple as typing on a keyboard.

My two private ranges are open, but no guests are allowed and everyone it told to keep there distances. The public ranges are closed in my area. My .22 RF back stop works just fine in the house for my air rifle and air pistol.

I am lucky here in Central Pa with the ability to still shoot. It's 22 miles from my garage to the 1000 yd firing line at Reade Range. As temperature permits I have been doing some testing there. My local club where I do 100 yd load development is now open to members only so I hit it couple times a week. About 20 minutes in another direction is South Fork were the ground hog shoots are that have no sighters. I can go there and shoot to 500 yds. So between eating too many of my wife's wonderful baked goods, viewing this forum, and wife and I hiking in a large St Game Lands 10 mi away I am staying sane. Sure do miss the competition of matches. Being in my 70's I hate to loose a season. I am very thankful for what I have.

Going to the BIL today. Retrieve my boat from the barn and store the snowblower. He is big into(old) rimfires and military trainers. He entered his first 100 yard contest last year and won. A neighbor built him a new bench(on wheels) he wants to measure and mark distances. I picked up some gray flat pavers and will flush them in at what ever distance he wants, can mow right over them. He has a portable rimfire trap for practice. We will have to stay outside, no hugs or handshakes. Probably take at least one of my rifles/suppressors, check zeros.

I live in North Indiana and every range is closed for the last two weeks and will be until further notice!
I have 4 new barrels i need to do load development for.
I have loaded for every rifle I own and ready to go.

I've spent the last two weekends and every day after work cleaning my house, truck and all of my side projects are done. So I'm kind of reaching the end of my sanity.
I quit drinking and started shooting, reloading and hunting as a distractive hobby. So now I'm kind of stuck.

However, I still have my job. I am not sick/ infected nor injured. So I have a lot to be thankful for.
I'm normally a recluse, I just guess this quarantine thing is got me down because the only thing I love to do is on hold.

Kind of silly but..
Sorry for the rant.

Awesome, my friends buddy is a member maybe he'll get me a visitor pass, thanks.

The air rifle might take the edge off! Try shooting groups with it!
thanks.
It's only 45' in my basement. I forgot how this think shoots groups even with a 5lb trigger and 3 power scope,lol.20200411_103751.jpg

Your preaching to the choir brother. We all feel you. I'm the same as you. A home body. Either fishing, hunting or shooting mostly alone. Can't do any of it right now in Michigan. Turkey season opens soon so it's my only pacifier to look forward too.

My local club is open for members only, no guests or matches allowed during this time, its members only. It is 15 minutes from my house and has a rifle range out to 300 yds, an outdoor and indoor pistols, archery range and 50 yd plinking range. Also two large ponds for fishing. I am 73 and retired and have nothing to complain about as far as shooting. We even have a Kawasaki mule for getting to the ranges and hanging targets. Its a great club.

2.5 hours is reasonable here in the west. I just joined a range 2.5 hours away that is open for non-event shooting.
Wow, shows it takes dedication to shoot out there . You really have to put the work in before making a trip like that and be productive while testing/shooting. My hat is off to you folks making those journeys . I am lucky here, I can do 100 yards here at home and have 3 private ranges I belong to within 20 miles of the house. They go out to 300 yards. One allows shooting as soon as you can see your target in the morning, well before the sun comes up over the berm.

Yeah, I’ll have to quit complaining about having to drive 20 minutes to shoot. I cant even imagine driving like that to go shoot a rifle!! I’m sheltered :)

Lucky my little private range by me is open and no one there when I went.
Took my 6x47 out and ran a couple rounds down range to keep the rust off. (100yds.)
4 shot group

Congratulations!

Yea, your groups are great but it's your likes that impress me the most. I post a target like that and get nothing more then 1 or 2 likes plus a comment from a guy who likes penguins accusing me of not showing the flyers. LOL.

I don't post to many groups in a crowd like this. Theirs too many world class
shooters that would eat my lunch. My 6x47 shoots like that all the time and that's
off a bipod and rear pinch bag. It's what these guy's call a hummer. (300 round down it)
Been tempted to throw it into a BR stock with a proper front and rear rest
and see what it could do at distance. (600+) It's been my most consistent shooter. Lucky
My range is 15 min. from home to shooting. All the other ranges in my area are closed too.
I wouldn't want to drive 2.5 hours to go fun shooting. I get pissed off when I forget something
and have to drive back 5-10 min to get it.

I was talking to a friend of mine last night, I didn't know he was a member of isra. We set up to meet this morning. So I loaded up my truck. This morning he called to tell me his wife had other plans for him today!!
:oops::(o_O
So I'm unpacking the truck

I live in Tennessee our range has targets out to 1250 and it’s open right now but like several of you it is a 2 Hour Drive and I have not made it yet with all that is going on
