On my shelf I have a Bushnell scope with a illuminated reticle. It's probably 30 years old. I got it in the anticipation that it might be nice to have a red dot during low light conditions...As it turns out, the very first time I hunted with it I shot a deer @ about 50 yards just in the first moments of legal shooting time. I was, and am sold on the idea of an illuminated reticle. Btw, the IR also works great when aiming into a background where the black reticle blends in.
I'm looking at the newer IR. Specifically from Leupold and Niteforce. The Leupold Firedot Tri-MOA, and the Fire Dot Duplex. I'm looking for folks opinions who have actually, or do actually use these reticles.
This is going on to a 6.5 PRC that is set up as a lite weight LR hunting rifle.
