Just look at the ammo, reloading items changes that are happening in Illinois already.
I spend a lot of time at the Bass Pro in Gurnee. I talk a lot with the folks at the gun counter. A few months ago now they had to implement a new process for purchasing. They have a separate computer that is the only one capable of purchasing Ammunition & Reloading Goods. You can no longer pay for anything that requires a FOID at the checkout in the front. They actually run your FOID now to verify that it is still valid. I don't have an issue with this as there is not documenting what you are purchasing, it's just a go/no go, much like the Form4473 for purchasing a firearm.
The part I don't like is what I was shown a couple of weeks ago. The guy I was talking with when I was purchasing some primers actually turned the screen around so I could see the process of validating the FOID. The top part was all active, this is the part that they put in your FOID, hit enter, and it comes back with Go/No Go. Then he scrolled down, there was a beta (for lack of a better work) portion of the process. In that sections it had fields for 1) What you were purchasing, and 2) Quantity of that item you were purchasing.
If that is in there, you know damn well it's coming. It will no longer just be a Go/No Go of your FOID, it will tell them exactly what you are buying, and in what quantities you are buying.

2.5 million felons as of Jan 1 2024 - storm troopers a comin? Who knows, but I sure will be safer in mu community, NOT even going to change anything that actually causes the BS shootings in the cities.
But Mom's Demand Action and JB will fell so much better. We have had the FOID for as long as I been around, I would think if I/we were the real issue our FOID would be revoked.
While do get that, this LAW does 0 to help curb the random violence and again penalizes us actual tax paying productive citizens.
Not really. Not all 2.5M FOID folks have accessories or weapons that fall under this. Additionally, the first offense is a misdemeanor.
But ya. Us law abiding, never used our weapons for a crime citizens will not be getting the leniency that they give the multiple felons that are caught every day and released due to plea bargaining and cashless bond.
But hey.....if it makes them feel safe, what harm can come of it.....right?
Don’t forget the retired cops and jail guards - they get an exemption, because why?
