if your smallest bushing fl die was not small enough..????

so i have a 300 wsm and a micron die, and at .002 shoulder set back my brass base is still to large.
( i set my calipers to zero from my head space gauge, my fired brass meassure .000 to .0005 in length,
set back .002 the base is .5538 to .5539.....and the bolt does not "drop"not a hard close but with some effort)


what would you do next....polish the back of the chamber ?? or ?????

I would go .003 and see if it drops. If not I would sharpie the base of the case and see if that's where it's dragging.

i have been to 007 shoulder bump and still had resistance...
why i am asking about chamber polishing at the big end

Micron dies are as tight as they get. You probably need some more room in the chamber around the base, or different brass.

Fired vs sized at the .200" line? Less than about .005" difference will cause issues between die and chamber.

Put a thin layer of marking fluid on the case and chamber it, see where it's actually rubbing. Slight resistance could be a couple places.
