After I dropped 5 out of 6 points to vertical on first string on Sunday with same gun and ammo that I shot 200-14X the day before, I was convinced it was the conditions causing the vertical. So I pinpointed a condition that would cause me to shoot low 9's so I stopped shooting in that condition and observe. Allan Rosenthall was shooting to my right and he would hit low 9's in that same condition. After observing the conditions for a while, I could call all of Allan's low 9's as soon as he shot. Instead of holding low for that condition, I waited for it to switch before I started shooting again. My reward was a high 9 when the wind came from the other direction! Got to love Ben Avery!

Hey Allan, DID YOU SEE THIS^^^^^^^^

Now we see how you treat your friends ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I did not treat him bad, the range treated us bad! ;)

The range did not treat you badly, the wind treated you fairly. Wind gives everyone equal failure opportunity. ;)

And that says it all......... ;)

I'm in the market for a good spotting scope. Those of you that were at this event could you chime in with what spotting scopes were used and for most part what was the most common spotting scope there that was in use.

Oh and a Big congrats for all those of you that shot well, from what I have been reading the conditions were very challenging.

Kowa with 25X long eye relief seemed to be pretty popular
+1 for Kowa. I use an older TSN-1 which works great. By the way Dan, I didn't get a pic of that sleek ultra low pro stock of yours. Can you post some photos of it?

I used a TSN-661 with the 25X LER eyepiece and it was the best scope I've ever used for spotting conditions.

I've got to get something said about a shooter, Rocky Felix... You did good son. Hard work does pay off and you have proven that. Congratulations on your achievement!

Thanks guys I'm looking at the TSN 883 but with the 20-60 eyepiece as we are shooting at distances around here now over 2k yards.

Congrats to derek, out of interest what Berger bullet and hodgdon powder was used with his loads.

Not sure what bullet/powder Derick was using but the two most common bullets used that i saw there was 185 juggernauts and 200 hybrids. Most use Varget with those two bullets.

Some of the Michigan guys i talked to said they were using 215s.

It was a great match in challenging conditions. Big thanks to all involved in putting it together, they did a great job from start to finish.
