If I were to do something stupid....I mean fun...and stupid

Nice shooting Drew & Garald! Quite an expedition down south. When we lived in Houston, wife and I would come home for Christmas..2 of us and 2 large labs in a TINY 3 cylinder Chevy Sprint. Got a lot of stares but it got 60mpg. If I recall correctly Stacy seems to collect ALL the hardware at Harris and it occurs year after year after year! VERY polished shooter! I think that 200 was from the "special" blend of varget I sold you!! LOL. Eric in DL

Thanks, Eric. You did market the Varget as a "600" blend LOL.

Some here have PMed me to ask about the specifics of the rifle I used, so here is some info for all.

Here's the rifle.

Its a Savage PTA, RBLP (yep a Savage), in a Eliseo S1 chassis with a NF Comp and a Seb JoyPod. The barrel is a Bartlein, 30" 1:7 4-groove Heavy Palma. I used a PTG ISSF reamer with 0.169 FB.

I was shooting Berger 90vlds at 2835fps (Lapua brass, 24.6 varget, seated 0.010 jam) that had been sorted, trimmed and pointed using Hoover's tipping die.

More detail can be found searching my userid and here is some of it.

Hey Drew. I've been out of town and just saw your post. Thanks to you and Gerald for stopping by. We definitely appreciated the help. I think you guys win the award for travelling the furthest to a range work day. It was good to meet both of you. Pam loved the pic of herself 'holding up the wall'. I hope you guys can make it back down for a match soon.

Thanks,

Keith

Thanks Keith,
It was fun to help out a little and meet a fun bunch of fellow shooters. I will return to your range to shoot without question. You have a great facility. Drew

Drew, I hope you will be able to make the trip again sometime! It was a great match, I agree it's hard to think a year has gone by.

Today was a nice, sunny 74 degrees, perfect weather for shooting :) Looks like Fargo is a bit cooler but perhaps not too bad for this time of year?

It was really great to have another opportunity to shoot with our fellow shooters from North Dakota. Thanks to Drew, Garald and Robert for making the very long drive from ND to Houston to shoot with us at Bayou Rifles. Thanks also to Robin for driving in from Louisiana. All true gentlemen shooters.

It was a very nice day for it too, a bit chilly to start but warmed up nicely with sun and rolling overcast. Conditions were typical for Bayou, merciless switching tailwind from the south to keep things interesting and humbling.

Some day I would like to make that run down there. I talked with Garald weeks before they left and he asked if I’d like to go along. I have to many irons in the fire. But I do agree. They are great guys. Always a pleasure to see the ND clan and enjoy the conversation we have. I’ll see them at the BSWN in February
