Identifying Remington XP 100 bolt

image.jpg image.jpg My dad purchased a couple new rifles today and we were wondering if anyone could provide some information on one of the guns. It is a Remington XP 100 action with a 20" Kreiger stainless in 6PPC. The question is that it appears to have at least an aftermarket bolt body if not a complete aftermarket bolt. The bolt body is stainless with straight flutes but the bolt shroud and bolt handle appear to be factory equipment. It also has a Sako style extractor and no ejector. I have attached a couple pictures for reference. If anyone could provide some information on this I would appreciate it.

You have pictured-
An aftermarket "coned" bolt body w/ sliding "T" bar extractor(not a SAKO) w/an
OEM Rem short cam bolt handle attached.
The firing pin shroud is aftermarket...also.

Thanks so much. We are new to the benchrest world so we aren't sure what we had. It has a nice tight lockup in the action and everything appears fine. He got both this gun an a 22BR in a 700 action tonight on trade and will be trying them out tomorrow. Hoping for the best.

I think that bolt was made by a guy named Burns.
In the for sale section on the Benchrest Central forum, there was a Burns bolt for sale .

Bolt looks a lot like some of the bolts that John Illum did on some of his Rampro pistols. Bolt face looks very similar to the bolt in my XP that he re-barreled for me.
