Identifying a powder help

It's a flattened ball powder. There's a bunch of different powder that look exactly like this.

Take your "I don't like shooting other people's reloads" to heart, and toss either the powder, or, if you don't want to break them down, the loads. You're never (IMO) going to positively ID the powder from appearance.

I Aquired a bunch of 30/30 reloads and all the powders he had in his shop. After looking at all the different powders. It resembles winchester 296 which he had there . I don't like shooting other people's reloads. So when I took a couple of these a part there is 29grains of powder in each one. With a 170gr bullet. I can't find in any of my books where this is safe load for this round. Is there other powders that could look like this that it might be.
