ideas for build

I am currently looking for an action so base a 7rum built off and would like to hear any experiences you guys have had. Most of my shooting is done in the woods, fair weather or poor, however I find myself appreciating the finer things while laying in the dirt. After having the opportunity to shoot a borden rifle, my 700 and savages just don't feel the same(i have my buddy to thank for that!) SO lets hear the good the bad and the ugly about the actions you guys have used, and what barrels you like in the 284 cal and why! thanks. Ean

All custom actions are good,no better than the other to a point. If you desire a hunting rifle to go in rain and mud and snow or whatever then choose stainless as they less apt to rust(but they can) as they are made out of magnetic stainless or 400 series, anyways they will rust if no care is taken after a wet trip. The kelbly is a very rugged action(atlas) and for the price is alittle more reasonable than some. It is really a matter of preference as long as its a repeater that you desire, So price them out and start building. I hate to admit it but Bruno's has a great selection of new recievers. If ordering direct see what the shortest lead time is and go with it. As far as barrels go I would say kreiger, bartlein, and brux are tops also pacnor is a really good choice as well as all makers make a lemon now and again.
