Ideal bullet weight for 6BR varminter?

Have a 6BR with a 28" 1:8 barrel, .272 no turn/.100" freebore. My primary use for the rifle is informal target shooting and it shoots the 105 A-Maxs really well.

Anyone seeing a major difference between the 65 and 87 grain V-maxs or similar?

Looking at smaller varmints, pds etc out to 600.

Differences as to wind deflection, explosiveness on target, accuracy obviously, the general considerations of a varmint bullet.

For out to 600, I recommend the 87-VMax.
Past 600, stay with the AMax's.
Out to 400yds, the 65's

Agreed with dmoran. I use the 87 vmax, .400 bc, and very explosive. IMO, its the optimal weight for varmints. Especially at longer distances. I get them to group in the .2's, but also weight sort them.

I like 55gr bullets in the BR for varmints, but only to 300. And not in an 8 twist. Would probably stay with the 87vmax and get a dependable drop chart made up.

+1 my 6 BR drives tacks with this bullet.
