Idaho Hunting Regulations

I was expecting to move to Portland in less than two weeks and instead found myself moving to Idaho. If I remember correctly, Idaho does not allow new residents to obtain a new hunting license within the first year of residency. Do I seriously have to wait for two years before I can hunt? Does this apply to fishing as well? Hoping that someone from the state can set the record straight.

Make sure you change your Drivers License quickly. They may base residency on when you get your DL.

Off topic here but ID allows non state residents who are disabled veterans (40% or higher) to pay reduced fees for licenses and tags.

You'll be able to buy a resident license and tags in 6 months but wont be able to put in for draws as a resident since the drawing window ends June 5th and you wont have residency until after that if you just moved.

You are getting some good and more accurate information to your question than what you had been told or heard.
But anyone, like yourself, that has a PC can pull up any state and it's fish and wildlife dept and get copies or PFD's on all the state regulations and laws and that way you have the full information on Lic, Status and rules first hand.
