IBS VFS matches

The idiot that made the stupid comment some time back about Score matches declining and the sport in a SEVERE decline because of certain people involved, bet you are having issues swallowing those words now. I really think it is comical and just shows how much you really didn’t know! Great attendance from Maine to Georgia and increasing numbers of new shooters coming to enjoy themselves. 31 shooters in Elberton, GA this weekend at a very well organized and well planned event. Thank you to the target crew and Executives at Elberton for their hospitality and support! See you all at GMSA in 2 weeks.

Another great turnout with some incredible scores posted.
No drama or animosity everyone hoping to do well but at the same time wishing their fellow competitor to do the same just one X or point behind them. ;)
The IBS score community is alive and well !

On behalf of Elbert County Gun Club, I would like to say thank you for the kind words Jim. It was an honor to be able to host an IBS match at our club and we are excited about the fact that we get to do it again at the end of May.
I would like to say that I am not privy to the negative remarks that have been made (that's a good thing), but, when I read something like that I ask myself "why?". What is the reason for the bad mouthing? Are they a shooter that can't hang with the IBS crowd? Are they involved with a range in some way and have no idea what it takes to host a match that people want to be a part of? Or, are they just one of those people that just wants to keep crap stirred up? Whatever the motive was, I believe In this situation here it is irrelevant, because, like already mentioned, we had 31 GREAT shooters, that had a GREAT time, doing some GREAT shooting, and eating some GREAT food. If you ask me, that makes for a GREAT weekend.
Keep doing what you are doing, your doing GREAT.

I too don't care for Creedmore. I would much rather it be wipe-outs. Just don't know how much that would slow down scoring.
Our computer scoring program has no function for counting wipeouts.
As one who does score targets, it would contribute to difficulty, probably in constantly calling in refers to reticle any thing that resembled a wipeout.

In my experience, one’s dislike for the Creedmore Tie Breaker depends on how it helped, or hindered him in the last Match

The attendance in both 600 yard and score is up significantly over the previous years. Wondering what has changed and caused the people traveling from 8+ hours away regularly to shoot these matches and it isn’t just one range, it’s all of them in SC, NC and GA! Something is definitely going in the right direction and attendance and camaraderie is the best it’s been in many years. Hope to see you all at a match soon! Looking like 37-38 shooters at Rattlesnake this weekend for a SCORE match!

There isn't anyone in IBS, NBRSA, Freedom or UBR that puts the time in to try and keep everyone involved and happy to attend a match than Jim Cline.
Most ranges have a fall off in attendance because the match directors get burned out trying to do things with the lack of support.
Jim does the contact and tries to get a head count which helps make the match directors job of labeling targets much easier.
Shooters like the contact to know they are part of a group ( the shooting community ) and are welcomed to a match.
I've seen more laughter and comrodery at every match in the last 2 years than I can ever remember.
This sport is expensive and time consuming and supposed to be fun and enjoyable so when there is a big turnout that tells you things are doing well .

Absolutely Dave

Another match with great attendance! Rattlesnake Ranch Wildlife Club had 34 VFS shooters on the line at this past weekend’s match! Love the travelers and competition from as far north as Maryland and West to Georgia. Total of 6 states represented at this match! See you all at Palmetto on May 2nd and 3rd!
