IBS Respect for the Larry Rutledge

Celebration of Life at the Palmetto Club, south of Tampa, was crowded. Larry Rutledge was not only a popular IBS benchrest shooter but a popular family guy. The huge ballroom at the club was filled as real celebration of Larry's life.



There were many floral display tables with family and life pictures plus one kind of special to us.

One of Larry's benchrest rifles topped the display, surrounded by IBS awards, a target, shooting memorabilia and pictures of Larry.

In attendance was the president of the IBS, Dave Matthews (left), Al Benarroch of Manatee iBS (center) and yours truly (right). In the background on the left is Tom Hutchins - owner of the Red White and Blue range in Georgia.



Also in the crowd was Tom Jacobs of Vapor Trail bullets with his wife Sara, Mike Lowitz, Tom Kozar, Bob Longo, Steve Bertran, Eric Bostrom, Dana English, Steve Krauss and many more from the shooting community. Larry's son Jim seemed to appreciate and welcome all who made the effort to attend in respect for his dad. We expect to see him using the rifle shown in future upcoming matches at Manatee.

For every beginning there is an end. It is hard to say "goodbye" so let this picture do the talking.

Thanks Captain Mel . We are back in Ga .Glad to get to see everyone just wish it was under different circumstances. Larry will be missed but we all know he will be looking down one us with a smile.

As we get older, camaraderie, friendships and love of life is all one can hope for. Larry appreciated all of us and shared his love for his friends and our sport. Larry was a true gentleman and will be missed by all.
