IBS Bench Height?

Mike, there really are no bench height regulations, but most bench tops run in the 32-34" range.

Hope this helps. -Al

World Benchrest Shooting Federation suggests at least 32 inches I prefer a little higher as i have spinal probelms and have to sit straight not hunched over but a good adjustable seat fixes hight variation problems.

Im in the process of building a portable and as of right now the table hieght is 34" without the adjustable leg ends,a little high for me,can add about 3-4" to height with leg ends).Im 5'10" and am going to cut the leg length to make the table 29" high and can take it up to 33" with the leg ends if need be.For my height, 30" is just right for use with a seat the height of a five gallon bucket.

BR benches from 32-34" are common. More at 32" than any others. At our new Angeles BR Range we are going for 32". At Visalia daddy long legs Thornberry wanted 34", he got his. Either way will be good.

The local Home Depot has steel plumbing pipe in 36" lengths with both ends already threaded. The inside diameters are 1/2, 3/4, 1" ect { I got the 1/2" size, seems plenty strong encough }. They also have steel flanges that are already threaded for the pipe. I bought 2 quarter sheets of 3/4" plywood for the top [ I am going to double the top ].

I also bought some extra wood so that I can cut out some wedges so that the flanges will have 15 to 20 degrees of angle so the bench will be real stable.
