IBS annual meeting e-mail

I received an e-mail from Don Cameron about the annual meeting. But it wouldn`t open. Has anybody else received the same or do I have a problem? Let me know. Jeff

Evan, I receive a second e-mail last night announcing a Zoom meeting. I don`t do them. Jeff

Years ago the IBS had an in person annual meeting in PA. You had to attend to vote. Now, its zoom and mail in vote for all members. OH WELL

Zoom is a great way to keep from having to drive to a location.
COVID caused allot of things to emerge that makes things like this prosper.

Evan, I receive a second e-mail last night announcing a Zoom meeting. I don`t do them. Jeff

I got the second one and looks good. Unfortunately, I will be on an airplane flying home during the call. Hopefully I can make future ones.

Zoom calls allow anyone with access to a computer the chance to participate. In person, in PA, was probably great for those who could travel and the locals but was undoubtedly a barrier for a lot of members.

The attendance to vote requirement was a hinderance to attendance. However, I certainly met a lot of other folks from as far away as Michigan, the Carolinas and Georgia, and places in between. A bunch of us traveled from Maine. We assembled on Friday afternoon, had supper, got to know them a bit and made friends I still communicate with from time to time, something that probably won't happen with zoom. We've gained some benefits and we've lost other benefits of a face to face.
