IBS 1000 YD Nationals

I see Robert Ross will be hosting the 2013 IBS 1000 yd Nationals. He runs a really smooth match. It should be a good time for all. Makes me want to go since its location will allow that possibility

And some of you wonder why you can't get new shooters into the sport after making comments like the above. To me this is worse than disparaging manufacturers since those running these organizations do it on a volunteer basis committing untold hours of their time and expense to make competition possible.

You don't have to be an IBS member to shoot 1K, so that and in itself, is not going to discourage new shooters.

The "good 'ol boys club" is their own worst enemy when it comes to recruiting or keeping members......

"I don't know so and so" Another way making it it hard for new shooters if the location is coded in the the match director's name.

Another way new members have difficulty is when the pit rotation is not clearly stated at the match briefing, granted 90% of the people shooting have shot at the range multiple times but the new shooters do not have that background. Sometimes when the new shooters are a little slow on a pit change because they had no idea they were supposed to change the older shooters say disparaging remarks about them.

I am one who like to shoot as many targets as possible...the NBRSA nats. shoot 6 LG and 6 HG targets for their 1000yd event....I shur hope IBS follows suit and makes the trip across country worth while...I dont want to and wont drive thousands of miles to shoot a cupla targets and watch others in a shoot off...Roger

PS..the IBS 600 yd format is PERFECT!!!!!

Jim, the club sets format for Nationals. 2010 Harris shot 4 LG and 4 HG. 2009 Iowa also did a 4 target agg.
