My current favorite is this 6mm BR Norma. 700 Remington action, Jewell trigger, 26 inch Lilja 3 groove 8 twist barrel, Remington 40X stock and Leupold 6.5-20 scope.

lwolken, that is one very nice rifle! i would say about the only bad part about the rifle is the fact that the full ammo box next to the rifle is about how many rounds the barrel will last. tell us about the loads you are putting through that rifle.

Nice stuff so far--

225 Win./Sav. Tgt. Action/McGowen 8 twist/Neallum stock/Unertl BV-20/T.K.Lee reticle--

Cool Preacher! Just been thinking about a new coyote XP in 25 RSAUM, set up for either the 115 Berger or 115 Nosler for the 400-600 yarders.

Here's a 6br in action Friday here in Rapid City, SD. It's a Dakota Predator purchased here a couple of weeks ago from 6.5BR. Shoots lights out with some ammo I had loaded for another rifle. Several 400+ yard hits made over this weekend.

Here's a Tikka 595 Continental Varminter in .223. These actions have a heavier receiver than a T-3 though both use the same bolt. This gun shoots easily into 1/2 moa with a very comfortable stock and very good trigger once I replaced the factory sear spring with a lighter one.

Cole,

Thats only about 300rds but its the reason why I have a second 243AI for back up! I like to take (2) 243AI's and a 6mmbr. I can rotate between the three without any down time. My first 243AI lasted well past 2500rds and it was still shooting half way decent. The BAT shoots 105gr a-max's great with 43grs of RL 22 gives right at 3250fps. I also shoot 87gr v-max's at 3450 with 43.5grs RL17 not as tight but it sure makes a mess. Planning on shooting it till it opens up then have my smith touch up the chamber. I believe the 6CM or 6SLR is right at the practical edge of the 6mm bore with the 243AI maybe just a bit too big. Here is the 6mmbr on a XR-100 Remington single shot platform.

LWolken, I am really liking that rifle. Where can i get a stock like that? I am looking for the same style stock, but in say redwood or curly maple. want an heavy class BR gun chambered in 6BR-DX.

Skeetlee,
I've been a looker for a couple of years and decided to join in since nobody is showing pics of my favorite type varmint rifle. I shot bolt guns of various kinds and calibers for years but have replaced all of them with Ruger #1's and #3's chambered for 30-30 cased wildcats.
may-09144-1.jpg

This is my .204 Wasp #1 and a 634 yd PD from our May,09 shoot. I was fireforming brass with 29.5 gr N135 and 40 V-maxes at 4040 fps. This past May I shot 39 gr Blitzkings ahead of 31.5 gr Varget for 4100 fps. This load shoots very well, but didn't have many hits past 500 due to windy conditions. The barrel is a 11" tw Krieger #18 contour, reamer is PTG of my design, 6.5-20 x 40 Leupold, Kepplinger set trigger. Mark Penrod did the metalwork. The cases are made from R-P 30-30 and are 1.77 long with 30* shoulder and .250 long, .232 dia neck.
rifle009.jpg

This #1 is also a wildcat of my own design, .219 DW PDK. It's kind of a combination of a lengthened .219 Wasp and an improved .225 WW useing 30-30 brass. Case length is 1.900 and shoulder is 35* with a .270 long .250 dia neck. Shoots 50 V-maxes at 3750 fps with 33.5 gr Varget. Barrel is 14" tw Shilen #7 contour. Scope is 8-32 x 50 Pentax, Kepplinger set trigger. Metalwork by Mark Penrod.
rifle013.jpg

I have to include my #3 in .219 Wasp since it was my favorite for so many years. It was smithed by Ralph Bond of Bloomington, In back in 1994. Barrel is also 14" tw Shilen #7 contour, scope was 16X Redfield 6400, Kepplinger set trigger, French gray finish on action by EABCO, plain walnut #1 wood from Reinhart-Fagen. After 6000+ rounds its at Penrod's to become another .204 Wasp. It will have a 11" tw Pac-Nor barrel. It's been there since late April, hope to get it back soon so I can get started on case forming and load testing.
One more pic of my 30-30 based wildcats.

.204 Wasp, .219 Wasp, .219 DW PDK, .224 BRM, 6.5 Bullberry Imp., .30 Herrett
The 6.5 and .30 are TC's for IHMSA steel.

Man that is impressive sir. Be nice to read more about them in a Varmint Hunter or Precision Shooting article. Seems like it'd be just what the magazine doctor would order.

For short range I carry a DPMS 16" bull barrelled .223 upper with a McCormick trigger, it currently wears a 2.5-10 Weaver Classic Extreme.

DPMS223-1.jpg

For longer range a Savage 12FV in .243 with a SSS LVT stock and Weaver Grand Slam 6.5-20 scope.

A 625grain slug works well from the 45-90

Sorry, couldn't resist :-)

I DID hit a crow with one @ 200 at our range. Damaged him somewhat
