I want to bush a firing pin hole

I want to bush the firing pin hole in my 700. Mostly just for the experience of doing it. I have read a bunch but I am still a little confused on how to figure the length of the bushing so that it traps the firing pin tip like gre-tan describes in his you tube video on how he does it.
Thanks Shawn
please also feel free to advise me on tricky spots and ways to screw it up easily.

Just a note. When bushing a firing pin in a Remington 700 using Jim Borden's method you will interfere with the ejector hole. It will have to be reopened up. A word of caution it is easy to break off a drill bit in the hole and you then can't get it back out. Suggest that you use a end mill to re open the hole. If done correctly only the cap will have to be drilled the body of the bushing doesn't extend that far out.
