Erik Cortina
Team Lapua Brux Borden Captain
According to QuickLOAD, using 105 Hornady A-Max with a AOL of 2.800" using H4350 with a 30" barrel.
The 6XC reaches max pressure with 42.8 gr. of powder (100.6%) at 3321 fps. with 64,923 psi. pressure.
On the other hand, the 6X47 Lapua reaches max pressure at 41.0 gr. of powder (100.8%) at 3241 fps. with 63,087 psi. pressure, which runs at a slightly lower pressure than the XC.
But if we match the same pressure with the 6X47 Lapua, it takes 41.35 gr. of powder to reach 64,941 psi. at 3266 fps.
So the 6X47 Lapua is slightly smaller than the 6XC (6X48.25) while using the same shoulder angle and the XC (.289") has a neck length .002 longer than the 6X47 (.287")
Can anyone else express their opinions on this, it just makes no sense to me, that one would be more of a barrel burner then the other.
It makes no sense therefore.... I DON'T BELIEVE IT!
Thank you,
-X3M
