I used the wrong primer

I've been using CCI 250 LR Mag primers for a 300 WM load I've been working on but I mistakenly used CCI LR BR-2 primers. The load is 180 gr Nosler BT over 66.0 gr IMR 4451. I hate to waste them, should decap and replace with the CCI 250s?

It’s extruded powder I’ll bet your fine in the old days we usually only used mag primers on ball powder anyways!…. Ive used a lot of CCI 200 which is identical to br2’s in my 300

I've used BR2's in a 300wsm bench gun for years and never had any issues

Lol, I use BR2 in 28 Nosler with 89gr of RL33.
No delayed ignition, tested in -5° F.

I would say -5 that 46and2 tested in is about as cold as most people ever shoot in

Thats colder than it normally gets here but it does get there and I have shot in 0 and a few minus days etc without changing anything other than using my normal winter charge.... So that being said about the largest caliber I shoot down here is 30.06 and have never had I misfire because of cold... Have you ever actually had it happen or is that about as cold as it gets were you live.??? I understand the concept of trying to light off a giant load of powder somewhere like the coldest spots in America and that it could be a problem... Here though it's the heat that's a problem it's already 100 degrees here and you definitely better have two different loads for summer and winter... Really for spring also... It sucks..

Edit... I see you live in Washington St... I have a very good friend that moved there from S. Texas years ago and he loves it.... I have seen it here 114 degrees at 7:00pm and easy 99 degrees at midnight....

I have seen it but it’s rare, usually slow powder with not enough primer. I’ve seen -28 to 120 here , I live on the banks of the Grande Ronde river in a narrow Caynon with basalt rims rising from the bottom to top of the hills , no sunlight in the winter months so once cold it stays that way!… 3’ rule on water pipes doesn’t apply here I go 4’ in the summer I see the same as you with 6-7 pm being the hottest part of the day the basalt hold the heat in so like you said it’s nothing to wake up at 2:30 to head to work and still be in the 90’s. Most all my loads I work up work through all those conditions, back in my 22-250 days H380 was problematic but when I got more advanced in my skills I moved onto 4895 and that problem went away.
