I shot My First Match!!!

Hey everyone,

Last Saturday I shot my First match down at Big Piney Sportsman club in Houston Mo!

I am Hooked, I had a lot of great Help in particular Mr. Wake I can’t thank him enough for all he has done for me if not for him I wouldn’t be where I am today in regards to F Class I shot My savage 223 my scores were 177-2x and a 181-0x

I am thrilled with how it turned out When I heard
Mr. Wake call out My First X I was Over The Moon I can’t wait to go Back and keep trying to get better thank you for Reading

Funny, I had to clean out my storage unit tonight and came across my first 1000y score card. I was shooting a R700 in a 40x stock from a Harris bipod in 260AI. Shot a 414 (out of 450). I think I had 6 or 7 X's.

Still shooting the same action and cartridge, ship of Theseus situation though as its not the same old gun, but kinda is, lol!

Whatever it is you decide to shoot, stick with it and shoot it alot. You'll learn more shooting the same gun/cartridge than trying to buy points with new gear.

Every single top shooter in every discipline will tell you to be the first one on the range and the last to leave to get better. Not what to buy.

Honestly we all have a good time. Make sure and get signed up for any of the team matches they have.

Your score may have been a little higher. You shot .223 but the target was set for .308. Liners count higher score.

Hornady ELD M 88 grain

1~7 twist

Yes I am happy with the load it could use some tweaking I’m sure with seating depth and all but for now I am happy with my start!

It sounds like your experience ran similar to my own. My first was July last year, the 2 day F match, same club! Great bunch of folks, lots of knowledge and no lack of smiles and laughs. See ya this year!
