I shot a tree

Son dislocated his right shoulder snow boarding year ago Jan. He had to have surgery and when turkey season rolled around he asked surgeon if he could shoot his shotgun? NO not for 3 weeks!
son asked if he could shoot left handed and Doc said yes. I was worried in the excitement he might forget and shoot right handed but he didn’t. He pulled the first shot in the excitement and shot a dead tree. I cut out a section of it and you can still see the shot in it. This was his first turkey!

video him unwrapping it. LOL

My friend and I were bow-hunting deer many years ago. He was a quite talented competition shooter. He got so focused on the size of a very nice buck ( I saw it as it ran past me after his shot) he didn't notice the two inch sapling in the way. His arrow ended halfway through the tree and I heard him cursing 100 yards away! He was so mad he left it there. I sneaked back a day later, cut out the section of the tree and gift wrapped arrow and all for a Christmas gift.
He was not amused!

I broke my right (dominant)collar bone playing football in HS. Shot a bolt action 20 ga single shot, left handed for early goose and first couple weeks of duck season. Dad wouldn't let me use the magazine, said shoot once accurately. I know it was for gun handling, safety reasons.

I had doped this old Tom out pretty well,30 sumthin years ago.Got all snuggled in shooting one of our hopped up recurves. Gave him just the right amount of calls,then....... no calling.

Sure enough he's coming in hard in some pretty thick new growth woods. Lots of natural undergrowth camo so was sure he was gonna hit one of my shooting lanes and was planning to catch him going "away" and plug his dumb a$$.

He did,I came up from behind a natural ground blind hitting full draw and release all in one fluid motion. Arrow was straight and true.... no excuses, great release.

He was caught dead to rights inside 10 yards.... dang thing was EXACTLY halfway behind a 1 1/2" thick sapling. Either side of the tree was a dead bird. I hit that dang tree dead center. Perfect shot, would've been a 10X in the kill zone. He "walked" off... not run,WALKED,haha.
