I see PVI is now carrying Nobel powders!

jonbearman

I live in new york state, how unfortunate !
Does anyone know where to find usable data in English? They don't show it in stock but I am sure it is coming. Are the powders good like VV powders or is it run of the mill? I am just looking to learn about it in case it becomes available at decent prices. I would love some chatter on it, Thanks to anyone with usable knowledge .

I picked up a 44# keg of Tubal 2000 a couple years back. It's a bit fast in the 6PPC but it works well in the various 223 rifles. If you have or look in the Lees book it has some loads for the different Vectan powders or look at the Nobel Sport site (limited cals/bullet weights listed). Different powders are made in different countries, so not at one plant. Vec T 2000 burn rate between AA1680-H-4198, T 3000 between H-322-Xterminator, T 4000 between Varget-IMR 4064, T 5000 between H 414- N 150, T 7000 between IMR 4350 -H 4350, T 8000 between MRP 2-Retumbo, BA 10 between R1-N310, AS between Solo 1000-Red dot, A1 between N 340-Herco, BA 9 between WSF- SR 4756, AO between Sr4756- Solo 1250, . I haven't shot the T 2000 in cold temps (below 32* or sub-zero) to really say how temp stable it is, but I've had no supprises from freezing and up. Here's the link www.vectan.fr/UK/range-of-powders Cosidering I paid less than 10$ a LB for the T 2000 the prices have gone up 3X as much in just a few years.

There has to be a site delving deeper into the powders offered unless PVI will ship a pamphlet with powder purchased.

Some time back, Jerry Stiller picked up a lot of one of the Tubal powders to use in his PPCs. If I remember correctly, he said that it shot well, but that it was pretty critical on charge weight. Speaking of relatively new powders, friends who have shot LT 32 in their PPCs and variants tell me that it has much broader nodes than 133. I think that that is a significant advantage in situations where there are sizable swings in ambient temperature throughout the day.

Boyd, Jerry is who I bought this from, In the PPC yes it was peeky so I quit, in the 223's with 50-60gr bullets it's been predictable. Is it (T 2000) the best for the 223? NO. It will give good NOT great accuracy with slightly lower velocities. For what I have into it , I can live with it's limitations till it's gone.
