They are superb lathes we have 3 of them all are 3 phased I'm glad for ya.

You gonna take that turret off there and put an Aloris TP on in place of that one i see? I wish I had your knowledge when i was looking for a lathe. Hope it works out well for you
I can see the QC tool post, but take the turret off!? That turret looks to me like 6 tail stocks in one. When I first started machining, in '74, I was set-up/operator of a W&S #3 Electro-Cycle. From there I went to the Acme-Gridleys, another "turret" lathe, of sorts........

About all I have to buy for this lathe is a Aloris Tool Holder and a nice 6 inch set true 6 jaw chuck.

Hard to beat a nice 3 jaw or 6 jaw set Tru chuck!

The turret is a luxury item. We have one on our Monarch EE at our shop, I use it as part of my neck turning operation. Aside from that, it gets used very little.
But it is nice to have.

Not sure. There is zero wear anywhere.
The machinery dealer said it came out of a Vocational school. Since it is wired for single phase 220 through a phase converter, that might be right.

Nez, this new lathe is for my new house, actually for future use. I am going to tool it so I can use the same setups as I use on the P&W.

Well one thing is for sure you have a nice lathe and 13x40 is the perfect size for barrel work!

I have a pair of Colchesters they look alot like that one. I really like them they seem to be the perfect balance between a hobby machine and a heavy duty industrial machine. Headstock is a little long for some barrels but there are easy solutions to that.
This ole monarch has been in service here since 1962 its getting cantankerous but it's still turning barrels we use it for duplications of custom contours.
That machine will take some meat off !

A Taper attachment Came with the lathe, I guess the previous owner took it off for some reason.
It has a travel dial and micrometer stop, no DRO.
I got it on wheels today so I can roll it off Of my trailer at my house.
