I NEED YOUR HELP PUTING A VALUE ON MY RIFLE!!!

I joined this Forum to hopefully get a little help on putting a price on this gun and getting it into the hands of someone who can truly enjoy it for what it is. I am not a long range or precision shooter but love and live to hunt!! I am wanting to sell this so I am able to purchase a new rifle more suitable for my needs. I know very little about prices of bench / precision rifles and about this gun. So I am looking to you guys who are lot more knowledgeable on these rufles than I am!!

I had purchased the rifle my brother in law who had inherited it. All he could tell me about it is that the old timer who had it built used it out west prarrie dog hunting and did little and did some shooting around home. We are from Michigan so I cant imagine it was too often. I put a few boxes threw it and it shoots amazing, the trigger is the lightest trigger i have ever seen!! But I just never use it and would love a new rifle for deer hunting!!

What I do know about it from the research I have done is that it has Kelbly Stolle Kodiak action with a left bolt, left port, with a custom right hand thumbhole stock. I am not certin who made the stock or barrel but both are in great shape. The barrel is a heavy stainless target crown barrel. It has a weaver V16 classic 4x16x42 scope with return to zero turrets. It is chambered for .17 Remington Fireball and is a single shot rifle.
I seen that the action alone from Kelbly is about $1200 so thought about starting to ask $1500.00 for it .... is that to much or little??? What are your thoughts?!?!?!?!!!!20170920_174948-2656x1494.jpg 20170920_174948-2656x1494.jpg 20170920_175031-1494x2656.jpg 20170920_175031-1494x2656.jpg

Beautiful rifle. Kelbly is not to far from me, I've had them build rifles for me but never with one of their actions. They build some fine rifles.

You should get a nice price for this one.

At least $3000 invested building it but now used. At $1500 should go quickly. For the cost of a low end rifle you could have it re-barreled to the caliber you want to hunt with. Trigger can be adjusted to your liking and you would have great custom rig.

Single shot not kool for big game hunting ;)

$ 1,500 is a good starting point to gauge interest.

Obviously if no one buys it in a reasonable time frame you'll just have to reduce the price.

It's a buyers market for these types of things.

You need to find someo e that knows guns better and can ID the stock. 1500 is low end.

1200 action
200 scope
Rings?
Stock?
Trigger?
Barrel? Twist? 330

Chambering 250?
Bedding?? 200
Stock fitting? 120

It was close to a $3000 build when new... with no scope or rings... not that they are high end anyways.

1500 is a low fair price. 1800 to 2000 could be possible if you could ID all the parts... could be a jewell trigger, could be a mcmillan stock... or it could be cheaper parts... no way of knowing..

I did a bit more digging and was able to figure out that the stock is a Lone Wolf. It was pretty obvious, I cant believe I over looked it!! I seen some forums where people have differing opinions on their quality from experience. I couldn't tell ya if they were good or not or what my stock is worth.. I am pretty certin that the rings are Kelblys 1" bead blast ones. The barrel and trigger are still a mistrey however!

I guess was pretty close on its value. I will be posting it up for sale here soon and the more I think about it, I got a pretty good deal on it and I am happy to pass along the savings to someone else who will get more use out of it! I will probably list it a bit lower than $1500 in hopes it sells fast and making someone's day because they got a great deal too!! Plus hunting season is just around the corner and it sure would be nice to pick up a nice .450 Bushmaster or another rifle before then!!

Left hand action, right hand stock, is going to hurt it some.

Barrel, unless verified with a bore scope will be valued very low.

Not trying to be a naysayer, just pointing things out that others have not.

I did a little looking at the trigger and compared it to some i see online. It very well could be a Jewell...

I was going to try and list it but I am not able to due to being a new member apparantly. I am going to upgrade my membership and post it in the classifieds tonight after I get the kids to bed and have more time. I got a pretty good deal on it and am happy to pass that along to who ever ends up buying it!!! I know that who ever buys it will feel like they are taking a risk and I want to try and eliminate that! I like to sleep at night and I wouldn't be able to if I thought someone wouldn't be happy with it when they got it!! Plus I don't care to sit on it trying to get every penny out of it! It was fun to have and shoot a while but I really have my heart set on a different rifle and havent the means to get it without selling this one. Call me CRAZY but I will be posting it later for $1200 or reasonable offer unless I hear from one of you guys who followed this thread before then.

I greatly appteciate the help you guys have been on here and the messages received. I got a lot of good insight and help that was much needed.

I did!! I had contacted the gun library a while ago about it and herd back from them on Friday. I slid in there on Saturday before work just to see what they would offer. They started out with a low offer but after talking about the gun a bit I was able to get a what I wanted out of it. It went better than I had expected it to go walking in there. It was a pleasant experiance. The gentalman I delt with was pretty familiar with custom rifles and seen the rifles value pretty quick. I am curious what price they ended up putting on it.....
