I need help with sand bags

When shooting yesterday from a bench I could not keep the rear bag from moving around, I have not noticed it before . And I did put baby powder on the top of it so the gun would slide on it.
Thanks, Art

Art,
What kind of bag, what is it filled with? By moving, you mean sliding on the banch top? Is the bench smooth? If the bench is smooth, we found that putting some water down helps the bag stay put. Try teflon tape on the stock. Heavier sand.

Mike,
I have a tall bunny ear Protektor bag, but not filled with heavy sand guess I need to get some . And how about a bug stabilizer? I have the teflon tape but don't have it on the gun yet, would you put it on a wood stock? The real problem was the bag was sliding around on the bench. I didn't think the bench was that smooth. I opted to get a Bigfoot bag from Sebastian when I ordered a front rest. Filled it with regular play sand but it still comes in at somwhere near 20lbs. Wow, that sucker isn't going anywhere. How I lived without one for so long I just cant imagine.:) Oh yea, the Seb coaxial aint too shabby either.

Can you give give me further information on the Bigfoot bag and the coaxial you mentioned above?
Thanks. Alan

I use a waffle like rubber material. It's sold at Home Depot as tool chest drawer liner, at Wal-Mart as kitchen drawer liner, at any RV or boat dealer to line shelves, etc. to keep stuff from sliding around. Carpet stores sell it to keep rugs from sliding. Put in on the bench under the bag. As long as it's clean it's like the bag is glued down. I use a piece that's long enough to go under the bag and forward under the reciever. With the drop port it keeps the case mouth from getting dented.

+1 ;)

My Protektor bags have the built in donut too...don't know if it really does anything though, but I'm never without my hunk of tool box liner...Lowe's has a large roll of nice stuff normally...

Sebastian Lambang makes the rest and bag out of Indonesia. They are extremely high quality products and highly recommended. His website can be accessed from a benchrest.com link,I cant remember the address). I got the rest, 3" front bag and bigfoot shipped to my door for $680,$180 was for shipping). He is currently making another run of 100 rests that will be ready to ship in January I believe. BTW, where in Va are you? If you can get to a match in Richmond or Fairfax, you can see it up close. I'll be in Richmond next Saturday and Fairfax has matches every month.
