I need help putting a $ value on a XP100 gun,CMON GUYS,HELP!

A dear friend has a sleeved XP-100 done up by none other than clyde and pj Hart.It has a stock and sleeved action set in an old lee six stock with no barrel.It was a triple deuce and I have the matching bolt for ppc he sold me last year. Ask any questions you need to to put a realistic value you would pay for it. The gun was put together at Harts as they arent far from us. It was owned by Wendall Coye. Again it has no barrel and it has a canjar 2oz trigger.It is missing the trigger pins which I can make myself.I just dont want to upset the seller by offering to low a offer.

Suggest revising your title to include XP-100 as there are a few very knowledgeable XP guys here that may see that and help you out.

JMHO, but it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Who put the action in the stock has no real bearing on the value. What it comes down to is the valus of the components and what you could get for them. The trigger is worth maybe $100 resale, possibly a little more. I've bought plenty of old , used benchrest stocks for $100-150. That leaves the action. I bought my most recent XP 100 action for $350 including a 6x47 straight taper barrel. Of course, the extra bolt makes some difference, but not a lot. If I really wanted it, I would go about $600 tops, but no more.

This opinion is worth a little less than what you paid for it.

To reiterate an earlier post, don't let sentiment get in the way of logic. The gun is far from a state of the art BR rifle. Speaking from a competitive BR shooter and gunsmiths perspective, I would have no use for such a rifle, except for just a fun project. I've got lots of those collecting dust. To me its worth the value of the action only...FWIW
