I need 222 Rem Mag brass

IMG_20190408_220153.jpg Butch, I am interested in what your 222.5 likes for powder and it's approximate capacity. I sort of came up with my own version that puts a 222 neck on a .223 case. I did this to take advantage of Lapua brass i blew shoulder out a little and sharpened the shoulder to 35 degrees.

I thought it would hold about the same amount t as the 22-.100 PPC short or close to a 223. In the photo above fro m left to right I have 6 PPC, 22-.100, .223 win case, my 222.5 LC case, and 222 FC case.

I was baffled on how little my caseheld. We discovered that the reamer was ground wrong so just for the fun of it i made up some cases with the `09 LC brass and it was no where near the capacity of the 22 short PPC. It went until I got the reamer redone and barrel rechambered that I fire formed my 223 Lapua brass. What an eye opener!

My 222.5 withthe LC brass was more like a 221 3/4!

Here are the capacities of the different cartridges and brands using BLC-2 as medium

My 222.5 LC 27.8gr
My 222.5 Lapua 32.7gr
223 Win case 33 gr
222 FC case 29.9gr
22-.100 Lapua. 32gr

Let me know how you load yours please

Tim, I just gathered them up for Jim Summers. Jim is the fellow at Shilen that makes all of their rifling buttons. I believe he is chambering a barrel for his old DGA rifle.
At one time I had a hundred long neck pieces of unheadstamped Federal 223 brass.
Don't remember who ended up with them.
