After a couple years of hard use, I had a little issue with one of my eyecups coming loose on my Vortex Razor HD 10x42 binoculars. Still worked fine, but warranted a reason for repair. So I took them in to the local sporting goods store to have them sent off for repair. No big deal, just get them fixed.
I called the store to check on the repair order after about a week. They contacted Vortex and called me back saying Vortex was issuing the store a full credit of $1200 to replace my binoculars with a brand new pair! Well since it was a credit towards me, I asked the store if I could upgrade to the new Vortex Razor HD 10x50 binoculars and just pay the $90 difference? They said it would be no problem since it was a credit issued. So I did, and WOW are the 50s nice!
So I basically used the heck out of my 10x42 Razors for two years until a small piece got slightly worn out and Vortex issued me a full retail price credit which I put towards the set I now wanted. What a great company! My hat's off to Vortex
