i have read there break in procedure,and will probably do what they suggest,just want to know, if its supposed to be a hand lapped match barrel,does it really need to be broke in?

Primarily it is the lead polishing up after the chamber is cut.

I follow their instructions just so I don't lose the warranty on the barrel. You can use the break in time for initial load development and/or fire forming cases. I've had good luck with both Shilen barrels in my DGV and am getting ready to order a new barrel, just haven't decided on length/twist.
