I'm in wally world at 6:00am Sunday morning when it opens since I need some patches. Two guys probably in their mid forty's walk into sporting goods and start looking at what used to be the rifle racks. One guy has a small bulge on his right side from whatever he was carrying, the other guy was bitching at him about why they had to stop here and see if there were any guns here, and why the hell did he need to carry a gun anyway?

Being a smart ass, I just couldn't help but ask the complainer a question, ... so if someone were to start shooting people in here, .. should your buddy there save your life with that gun you hate so bad, or should he just let you get shot and killed so he can save his life instead?

The lib never answered but the daggers coming out of his eyes would have killed me dead for asking such a question, he just walked away and his buddy was laughing as he walked away with him.

I thought it was just a fair, honest question!

Fair question. Though, to "true believers" (anti-RKBA types), them's fightin' words.

I might have asked: "Better to have actual means of survival than not, if a violent felon does decide to 'blow', don't you think?"

Either way, perhaps it'll get the guy thinking at some point about the baseless nature of his "concerns." Likely not, as ugly as his reaction seemed to be. But, you never know.

Exactly, I decided long ago you are fighting a losing battle to try and reason with that mindset. They hate guns and dead set against anyone owning one.

I have used this analogy on several occasions. "Why do you carry a spare tire around in your vehicle? With the price of gas being what it is, why don't you take out the spare, thus lighting the weight of the vehicle and thus getting better gas mileage." They respond with "what would they do if they had a flat on the interstate in the middle of no where. It usually stops the anti's in mid sentence when they realize what they said.

My wife asked me one day, why do you feel the need to carry going to the grocery store. My simple response was, anyone can decide to go off the deep end, anywhere! There simply are no " no shooting zones in this day and age. She is pro gun and always carries now. Many people just have a different mindset, since they personally, are not violent by nature. Just my opinion. It's our job to whip them into shape. Seriously.
