I feel stupid!

Ok guys I've been loading for many years and I'm one of those if it ain't broke don't fix it type but it's looking like I am going to have to change! I'm hoping you can help me out here.

I am about to start loading for a 243 and am going to be shooting either the 107 SMK or 105 A-Max not sure yet but I don't know if the moly coated bullets would be a good choice or not? if you would be so kind as to give me some imput on your opinions that would be great! also do I need to change my cleaning process if I do go with moly?

I am looking at the Wilson reloading components and was wondering your thoughts here and what I should not be without? this rifle while will be used for tactical matches,if all goes well) and the 308 I have been using RCBS stuff for years I hear the VLD type bullets can be a whole new world so again opinions or suggestions would be a great help!

And finally the last thing, does anyone know of a site or can post pictures of their range boxes? I don't get to the range near as much as I need to and I would like to be able to take my loading equipment with me so I can work up loads there before I mass produce them at the house but the way I work up loads now and the time I have to get out to the range just ain't gonna work so I was thinking I could just take my equipment with me but can't figure out what I need to build.

Like I said folks I feel kinda stupid asking these questions but I thought I'd just ask and see what the folks that use the stuff think and suggest, in advance THANKS for your help. Later,

Kirk

I've stayed away from moly but have shot with others who use the coated bullets. Beats me.

Wilson makes excellent reloading dies and their case trimmer is superb. I swapped from RCBS stuff to the Wilson dies for my precision rifles a few years ago and instantly saw an increase in accuracy downrange.

That said - the Wilson dies do require a different press, so you'll have to figure in the cost of an arbor press. They also neck size only, so you may find that you still need a standard die to squeeze the case body back into shape on your old RCBS press.

Redding Competition dies are very nice, and can be used with your standard press. They produce excellent ammo! IMHO there are two good reasons to switch to a "match" type die:

1. Better control of neck tension by swapping neck bushings.
2. Almost no bullet runout because of the straight-line seating operation. This alone contributes greatly to accuracy.

Regards, Guy

I don't shoot moly but one of my buddies does. The only thing that I know he ran into is that if you are going to shoot them stay with them and don't go back and forth between coated and not coated.

There is a great pull out box with wheels and a pull handle at home depot for 80 bucks. I think it is going to be a popular range box as people discover it. It will hold everything and the way it opens makes it all available at once. Sorry no picture.
