I fail at Snerting

Man, I tried to Snert a couple pups this weekend and failed miserably. Snert, can you ever forgive me? :D

Its tough to clean Snert a PD pup in the wind. They are rather small.

1st one 20P 40 vmax at 3750, 2nd one 6BR 58 zmax at 3900.

According to the biologists they eat their own, coyotes and buzzards ain't what makes 'em disappear en masse, they get drug underground by their own family. I've seen hundreds disappear in 3-4 hours, with 10 birds in the sky. Makes sense most get drug underground. Not the gentle non-confrontational vegans they are made out to be.

Help me out: What’s the definition of a snert? I always took it to simply mean a rodent that’s been solidly hit (with all the usual gore).

So what’s a “snert”?

Someone coined the term a few years ago when I posted a head shot groundhog. So, it is not gone viral, maybe just bacterial...but it means a rodent minus cranium, via high velocity

Ah, I didn't know that. I just figured it was a dismembered creature of the dirt hole piles. I'll keep my Snerting better confined.

I would mention that the initial intent of my post was not to show graphic destruction, but rather extol the virtue of an ancient 220 swift Arisaka that I have. Appreciating the accuracy of that old rifle (what we are about here), another member remarked that the groundhog was "snerted"...as in harvested, shot, taken, by me. Somehow my humble efforts to become a groundhog hunter suddenly became a note of "fame' and thus the term, quite unexpected and certainly not earned.
I do appreciate an accurate rifle, and I still love to hunt groundhogs, though it has now been two years since I have had opportunity.

I personally would like to know more about the rifle guys are using, especially if it is some arcane rig like a PO Ackley original, or a wood stocked early varmint rig in 219 D. So, for the record, I do appreciate the kind affirmation, but appreciate the firearms more...

When I first joined here I didn't know what a snert was and posted this pic. Took a bit of reading before I figured it out. When I found out who snert was, I knew I had met a gentleman and a scholar. Just don't hold a bug up to him.

High praise from a NC rebel! This Yankee is humbled.

I only have part of the story so pardon me if I get some parts of the Legend wrong. Way back when, there was a Lawman. He dealt out justice in the great Northeast badlands, protecting Widows, Orphans and other defenseless folks from the scourge of outlaws that roamed the countryside. Known for his fast draw and deadly accuracy, criminals ran for cover at the mention of his name, fearing his horrible wrath. Bearing the scars of countless deadly encounters from years of service to Truth, Justice and the American way, he finally turned in his Badge and sought Peace and solace in the farm country of midwestern New York State. Short was his rest, for he soon heard the cries of the local farmers besieged by a plague of groundhogs destroying thier precious crops and threatening doom and poverty on those good Christian folks. Not a man to turn a deaf ear to such a need, he took up his trusty rifles and set himself upon the beasts. A just and humane man, he always aimed for the beasts heads, dealing them a quick death. Thus the legend of "Snerting" became known.;)
