I DID IT ON THE FIRST TRY

Went to the range yesterday. After shooting about 100 rounds of rimfire, I decided to try splitting a card at 50 yards. Cut a slit in a piece of cardboard and slid the card into it. Place a flat card several inches away from it shoot a few test shots. Fired five test rounds and then decided to give it a try.

Here is a photo of the split card. Did it on the first shot. Set the whole range group on fire with the compliments. Gonna frame the card.

YEAH!! and he missed, that dark thingy in the middle don't have no kinda hole in it??? I don't know why he used a card that is already torn too I thought this site was about GOOD shooting, DUH!! just messin nick, great shot and now you got me wantin one of them there cards heck I just hope I can hit it at all, you know, with the whole thing facing me

We were messing around the same way one night and one of my students tried a few times. I told her to find an aiming point above the card. Next string of 5 from her Fathers Military Citation, I hear a brrrp. Sure enough......cool as heck, offhand and very new shooter. I think 25' or so.

I’ve seen where people have done this before with lots of practice and multiple attempts.

Never ever heard of someone doing this with a rifle with ONLY a front sight. Congratulations!

The photo of the rifle was taken before I mounted a scope on it. Sorry if there was any confusion. T36 scope.

cool but was it really the first shot after firing a hundred rounds plus a few extra sighters just before shooting the card???

Kinda sounds to me like you hit it on the 104th shot
