Went to Salt Lake today. The boss wanted to go shopping for stuff that's hard to find here. Sportsman's and Cabelas were in the itinerary. As well all the gurley places. Sportsman's Ogdon had 4 can's of powder. All obscure stuff that I wasn't interested in. Had a bunch of ammo. No I dint buy any. They did have quite a few bullets but again Nothing I was interested in. Dint see any primers. Was going to drop over to Cabelas in Farmington, but decided that if Sportsman's dint have anything neither did Cabelas.. So on to home.

May have got lucky in the last stop? They had 6br lapua in Acworth ga. The other day. No primers. No powder, slim pickings on projectiles, honestly I think I have more than they do. The loaded ammo was “unbelievable” in price. They did have it, but no wonder.!! If I still have pics of ammo I will post it.

Cabela's has become so useless to me here of late, that I told the wife - get us a different credit card. Not much point in storing up 1% of other purchases as 'points' at the store, if 'the store' isn't 'the store' any more now that Bass Pro has taken them over and they aren't carrying the stuff I'm interested in any longer. So we went with something that will give us 3% cash back on food and 1.5% then on everything else, and heck we even got spotted $200 for signing up and spending whatever it was... maybe only $500 in 3mo. That sure wasn't a hard bar to meet!

Seems to me ever since Bass Pro took control things have gone down hill. I think Bass Pro is no fan of us shooters. I know the the one in Sun Prairie sure seems to cater to the tree huggers.

I'm lucky in a bad way. about 2018-19 I bought a lot of powder, bullets and primers at low prices. Had back surgery in 2019 and heart by-pass surgery in 2020. Have not been to the range or hunting for two years. Hope to get out late this summer or next year. I fire about 500 rounds a year. Hopefully all at GH. Have enough supplies for about 5 years.

They day they merged, I cancelled my Cabelas Club black visa. I had used it for years and scored many points, but they have very little of interest to me these days. They certainly aren't the Cabelas of the Good Old Days.

This is where I buy my shooting supplies in Ohio. 3 stores only in Ohio. About 150 powders listed online and everyone is listed as out of stock. Was a great store with just about every powder, primer and bullet you could want. Looks like old prices listed. All primers out of stock. Some bullets. May go there and renew my license tonite.

I would say , at least it's on the shelves , it's been awhile.... But I wouldn't pay those prices because if you do they will keep asking that for it..... I think the first time gun buyers have stopped buying ammo... It's to expensive , that's why it's still on the shelves... My wife stopped asking me decades ago , why are you buying that don't you have plenty , she knows why , she's been through this again and again , over and over.... Now she says buy it while you can... I just right now don't need anything... Although those prices are stupid , at least the stuff is there , that's the first sign things are getting better....

Did I read somewhere a couple months back that Bass Pro also just bought up Sportsmans Warehouse? I think they did. Can anyone verify?
If so, Things will be really tough, but high hopes for all the LGS to flourish!

Rocky Mountain Sports, Cody, WY. Limit 2 sleeves. I bought one and have it in the reloading room next to a brick with a $39.99 sticker

primers.jpg as a reminder...

I went to my Sportsman’s Warehouse yesterday after I was done at the gym, what did they have powder! Since they limit you I only got 1lb, but that’s the most I’ve seen there in over 2 years. I’m sure it’s all gone today.
