I Broke my Lee auto prime, need recommendations for a new one

So I broke the housing on my lee auto prime, is there any body who has used the old one and then switched to something you like better. I know I can buy an old one off ebay, but I thought I would ask about my options and recommendations 20170128_085046 (640x360).jpg 20170128_085132 (640x360).jpg

You had the original thin side (weak) die casting. You must have been really gentle with it. Most of those were broken long ago and replaced by Lee.
The improved version is about twice as thick where yours broke.

I still use the orig , never broke it yet , but I have small hands ! Get it !
I did buy spare parts for it many many years ago , I'll see if I have a spate body .

I have probably reloaded 50,000 rounds with it. never really gave it a second thought

I like my old RCBS bench unit, used since 1978. This priming tool lets me put my weight on the handle, very useful when seating Russian primers. ;) I still have a Lee, nearly as old and fully functional.

John has an extra one he is sending my way. thanks John
I should have qualified my type of shooting that I need this for also. high volume Squirrel shooting (4000+ rds a year) some chuck shooting and hopefully some prairie dog shootin this year. January and February I load up to between 6k to 8k rds so I will have enough for the 4 or 5 trips. you never want to run out. when a non shooter ask why I have so much, I ask why they need more than one square of toilet paper

Don't get the new Lee it's nothing like the old one. I bought one to use on my non bench rifles because it's faster than my old Sinclairs. I'm about ready to throw it in the trash

That's a bunch of squirrels. Your state must have a generous bsg limit.

I guess i'm lucky that the retards in the government wouldn't let the ranchers poison, well there some new poison out that could change all that, plus we can't shoot lead after 2019, can you imagine changing your barrels for the twist rate that will shoot these friendlier bullets and then working up new loads.

Same here, the new one is a POS.
The old one worked well for blaster ammo
till the lever broke.
Now mostly 21st century tool.

Totally agree with this. I bought a new one after using the old one for decades and sent it back after 100 primers and the end of my patience by the end of the same 100 primers.

Finally went to a RCBS bench model after trying the RCBS hand universal model. The universal model would lose its grip on soft Norma 6xc cases. Should have went to the bench model years ago after trying one.
