What I found, after getting my remote property on the top of a mountain (sound carries and echos for 5 miles) is: 1. I don't enjoy disturbing the serene quietness so much and 2. I don't necessarily want the banjos climbing up to investigate.
So call me old, but I still drive the ten miles to a DNR range in the off peak hours to do any 'serious' work. From which, by the way, I can hear when the atmospherics are right.
