It ain't. I have 3 and they look great, but will scratch if you look at them.
Hmm. I was thinking of having this done in the past but never did. But, isn't it SOP to clear coat on top of the hydro? Wouldn't this provide some toughness?

Sorry haven’t been on for awhile. They told me it was more durable than powder coating but I also had a high gloss finish. The only reason I had it done was every savage model 12 seems to come with the same gray laminated stock and I was to cheap to pay for a real burl wood.

Man that Savage looks good. Makes me think of a sexy hooker in a short red dress. Fun to look at but scared to touch it.
