Has anyone done it? Lessons learned?
I have two barrels I'm thinking about, both are stainless and I don't want to risk damaging either. One is an F-TR barrel that shoots and the other is a hunting rifle that's difficult to replace barrels on. This is pure cosmetics but I have a vision that is gonna rock my world if it works. Research so far says it will handle the heat.
I have a neighbor that does hydro dipping as a side gig. He tells me he's done barrels before and says he needs to blast it, degrease, base paint, dip it, then clear coat. I can machine caps to protect the threads and bore of the F-TR barrel, a bit more of a challenge to protect the bore on the hunting barrel.
Any issues with bore cleaner damaging paint?
