hybrid 100v in the .220 Swift

Just got me a Rem 700 VS SF II in .220 Swift. Put Leupold stainless rings and 4-12 scope on it. What a beautiful rig if I do say so myself.

I have access to a supply of Hybrid 100V at a good price. The Hodgdon web site shows this powder with a 55gr bullet but the velocity is low compared to other powders. Looks like it is too slow.

Does any forum member have experience with Hybrid 100V in the .220 Swift and what is their opinion of same?

I don't have any experience with this powder. I do have a lot of experience with the 220swift. I have not found any powder better than IMR4064 or RL15 for the swift! Thought I would edit this a bit!

I haven't found a powder in my swift that worked better that IMR4064 50gr and under. RL15 seems to work best with the 55gr.

1000yrdstare,
All I can really say is that there isn't any better powder better than Imr4064 or RL15 for the swift. I am sure that there are a lot of people that know a lot more than me. I can only say what has worked best for me and a few others. Most that I know that shoot the swift end up using 4064 or RL15 as there go to loads for the 220swift! I get some extreme volicities out of 4064 and the 50gr blitz king and it really shoots accurate at 500yrds. It gives southeastern groundhogs hell! If you try the h4895 I would just start with a pound before I bought 8#s.

Sorry I couldn't help more I'm just sold on the IMR4064 and RL15 for the swift! ;D

Real good reason to be sold on it-- It flat out just works great especially the RL-15 part........

I also have access to RL15 at a good price. This powder wasn`t available in the 1980`s when I had my first Swift. Thanks for the advice and I will give it a try in my second Swift.
