HVA 1640 Huskvarna

I have a Husqvarna 1640 HVA barreled action with no bottom metal. Cartridge is .280 Ack Imp. I have several Mauser 98 bottom metals to choose from as replacements. I have a Interarms mark X, that matches up nice and feeds perfectly. I have to mill the front screw post down a little to level everything up and the rear wall that fits into the rear mag mortise on a model 98 is a little high. Has anyone fitted these to the Huskies before and what is the correct fitting proceedure? Should the box be snug up against the action bottom or should there be a gap? Thats the question. If someone has been through this I could use the assist. Thanks.

I do not want the mag to fit tight against the action. I leave about .030 gap, I want the action to be seated against the stock bedding and the action screws tighten it to the desired torque.

Thanks. I think that's the key. Cut the rear wall down and mill the front pillar until I get the right clearance. Make sure it feeds. Cut a rear pillar to length then bed it. Contact only at the rear adn front pillar. Got it.
