Huskemaw Scopes

No, not made by NF. I have looked thru one, nice and bright. But I would not like the 1/3rd minute adjustments.

There is a lot of info on long range hunting.com. You can read all these posts and google for more:

The Huskemaw scopes are very clear and track well, just too heavy for me. I have owned several of them and have sold all of them and went with a lighter weight Leupold. The reticle in them is great for hunting, I wish Leupold would come out with a windage reticle in MOA.

stapher1,
I came about this (.001)close to buying one. They have clear glass, I have been told it comes from the same plant where NF comes from,( A little island called Japan) and a simple to use retical that I think any hunter would like. There about $1150, for not much if any more you could find a MK4 leupy or for about $400 more I have seen used NSX Nf scopes on here. I think there a lot of money for what you are getting. I don't think you would get a unbiased answer over @ LR hunting.com as there as proud of the huskemaw as the people are here of the GREAT NF scopes. If you want it for score shooting, forget it .348 moa vs. .261 or even .1305 moa that your use to. For hunting the 1/3 moa would be just fine, one click on a 1/4 moa scope @ 1000 yards is 2.61" and one click on a 1/3 moa scope is 3.48" @ 1000 yards which is just over 1/2" (.670) more than the 1/4" scope. I don't know any animal that would notice the difference ;) The custom BDC turrets are a joke as far as I am concerned, and that's all part of the hype and a lot of what you are paying for. Unless you are hunting in the same area and weather conditions all the time the BDC turrets will not work as advertised IMO but if your satisfied with the price and are willing to use a ballistic program and the factory 1/3 moa turret that comes with the scope then I think it would be a great scope. I also would like to add that most of you here on 6br realize how important sighters are on our targets!....well you don't get the opportunity of a sighter on a elk @ a 1000 yds. With the advent of LR laser range finders prompted these types of scopes and the LR hunting fad, and I have to wonder how many wounded animal go undetected, because of these type of scopes, range finders and LR hunting shows on T.V? I think on T.V we only see the one shot one kill shots we don't see the hunts gone bad parts!! I am not saying LR hunting is a bad thing or can't be done, but you all know the variables we have to deal with @ say 1k yds on a 42"x42"blue target, with out someone down range putting up sighters for us our record shots might not even be on paper ;) These of course are JMO

What about Sightron?, None of the local shop have their upper end line of scopes. I'm just worried about buying their scopes and finding out that it wouldn't accurately adjust or shoot the box. I bought a Nikon Monarch and had that happen, i don't want it to happen again.

An SII Big Sky or SIII will shoot the box with the best of them. If it won't, Sightron will make it right. Best customer service ever.

Don't know, don't care. As long as what I get shoots. Why would you care about more than that yourself?

I don't think they are selling previous generation scopes as new, though.

I don't really care either, my point was that they have to fix scopes and turn them back out. I'm sure they don't just throw all the broken ones out, dig? They must go through them and replace bad parts with new ones and then turn them back out. But maybe I'm wrong, been known to be wrong before! ;D

Aaron Davidson that used to be on the Best of West TV show that pushed the Huskemaw scopes split up with that show and those people to concentrate on his Gunwerks business and created a new optics division or whatever called Gseven. That new scope is produced by NightForce with some changes made to it. They also have a new rangefinder that is supposed to be better than anything else on the market. Now don't jump on me too hard, I don't have a dime in any of this. At one time or another I had signed up for email updates from Gunwerks or something and got an email this month with the new website in it. Gseven dot com

Since they just recently opened repair facilities in the US, those old scopes probably either went in the trash or back to Japan.

Just a guess, I have no inside info.
