Huskemaw Scope

Both Vortex and Leupold make custom turrets for their scopes. There is also a company that will make custom turrets for several brands of scopes.

A good friend of mine has one on a Tikka T3 in 7mm. I have shot it a few times. The glass is only so so and for the money not worth. If you buy any of the higher end scopes, ie NF, Leo, Ziess, Swaro, Kenton Industries and a few others will cut you custom turrets that you screw on in place of the factory. They work very well. Leo will also cut you custom turrets. To me the 1/3 MOA adjustments and the sub par glass makes them way over priced. A Leo with a custom turret would be a much better way of going. Personally I am not a fan of the yardage cut turrets given how much condition changes can have on a projectile. That said, my friend has taken a few pronghorns at over 700 yards, a 350 class bull elk at over 800, a coyote at 780 yards, and many rocks and stumps out to 1000. All of that was done in MT where hunting conditions go from 75 degrees to -10 degrees and elevation changes of 2500 to 6500.

BigDMT, Wow, blasted either way! I was saying from the video they appeared to be good and if the optics and adjustments where good then why not! I personally like to know what I'm buying before hand! I would like to see higher magnification to even consider paying $1500+

I have had two of the older scopes for 5+ years. They are very repeatable and work well as hunting scopes. I agree they are not a Swarovski, or Zeiss during the last ten minutes before dark, but they do work well. I am referring to higher end Swarovski, and Zeiss scopes. Mine have gone to Canada the last 4 or 5 years. That's how much I think of mine. If you go on Randy Robinett's website ( Bib bullets) you will find his opinion of them as well. He is selling them, and I believe his website says that he is sold out. Just for conversation I have mine on a 6.5-284, and a 7mm Weatherby.

If I were looking for a 600, 1000 yd. benchrest scope this would not be on my list, however in a hunting application I truly like them.

This my opinion that is from using mine in the field for multiple years. I have never gotten my free dials, but I do know my adjustments out to 800 yds.

Regards, Waverly
