Hunting with target and hollow points

So fellas, when you are using your 22 rimfire to hunt with what type of bullets do you use and prefer? I mostly have always used the hollow points for squirrels and small game with good success. I am not picky about the ammo just as long as it shoots well enough for what i am doing. As far as the 22 rimfire goes i have not had any high end or target type rifles to much to full with except for 2 10/22,s that Clark worked over that i no longer have. I puchased a little CZ scout that has a silhuoette stock on it used from a fellow that bought it new and put a couple boxes thrue it. My 22 ammo is pretty depleat and right now the stuff like everything else is scarce to find. So when some stuff ever starts to trickle in i am going to get a little variety of stuff to try out in it. I have heard and read that the wolf ammo is pretty good stuff at a reasonable price. Anyone shooting this wolf ammo and how do you like it? Have you used it to shoot any small stuff with it?

With a well placed shot the squirrel won't know whether it got hit with a target or hollow point and you know all about that . Wolf or SK jagd are one in the same and I think are connected with Lapua . If I'm wrong on that, someone will correct me . In short ,those two shoot well in all my 22's . You are not wasting you $'s on them . If you can find them ,run , don't walk .

Ur right about that one. But I don't think I'm going to use my good Lapua target ammo or the rifle I shoot it out of on squirrel hunting. Using Wolf and an accurate less expensive Rimfire rifle will do the trick just fine.

Wolf and Sk make low end "target" rounds that tend to bring the best out of the "regular" 22 rifles . I agree I wouldn't hunt with a fullblown target rifle and $17/box ammo but to each his own. If you find the lower end Wolf/Sk - - - buy it and try it in your regular 22's . I don't think you'll regret it .

I use whatever shoots well in my guns. In this case with all 3 of my LRs I use CCI SV. It keeps them all under 1/2" @ 50. When you keep them in the head it doesn't matter what kind they are.

Of the various 22 ammo I have tryed , the Winchester HP PP has shot the smallest groups from my 22 RF rifles used for prairie dog shooting.

I've used Federal Hi-Vel match ammo for groundhogs. They can't tell the difference between hollow points or solids.
