Hunting rifle triggers Timney Calvin Elite vs basix ERV3

I have been running ERV3's but the new Calvin Elite has me intrigued does anyone know how it compares? Bixnandy and Jewel are other options but both are more expensive

A couple friends recently bought Calvin Elite's and there's not much to impressed about. They were set up to be as good as they could be in sear engagement and pull weight. A waste of money in my opinion. Buy a Jewel or B&A if you have the money.

I use the Calvin in some hunting rifles. Its good. Like the others said its not a Jewell and definitely not a Bix. It has a lot of spring pressure on the top lever, for that that reason I prefer the Jewell or a worked over Remington. Never used a Shilen.

I agree Alex, the Calvin and others work for inteded purpose but are not in the same league as a jewell or bix's but there are some advantages to the lesser triggers in regard to hunting environments in my experience. A Remington, rifle basix, Shilan & Calvin have less chance of freezing solid if exposed to wet freezing conditions. I've had a Jewell twice on a blizzard & storming day freeze solid no bang bang when it was time, thankfully both times I had a hunting partner and a second rifle. These days I have one of the other options on my hunting rifles and have never had one freeze solid.
