Timney Calvin elite triggers

Well I'm going to build a Mausenfield, sitting in a Manners T4A mini chassis.

I'm trying to make the trigger decision.

I would like #1 for the varmints and I'm looking at the Timney Calvin elite for a 700 lefty with safety.

Anybody running this trigger? I can't seem to find much on it. I have some other Timney triggers that I'm happy with. I have had Jewell triggers before and there great on the bench but I've had bad luck with them in the field.

This looks like the first part I'll have on hand for the rifle. A few months for the stock and action.

The timney calvin elite is a great trigger with a 8 ounce minimum weight. I sell them for 170 shipped and they're instock. PM if interested

Jewel Triggers require Maintenance, I ran the same Jewel for 10 years, 2 308 Win barrels, 1 260rem barrel, and 2k through a 6.5 Creedmoor tube, every 500 rounds give the trigger a lighter fluid bath, once a year take it apart and detail clean it, never once did the jewel let me down, dusty conditions, rain freezing rain, finally a pierced primer took it out. I did pick up a used Calvin Elite as a spare for 120 bucks, between the 2 triggers the the Calvin is set at 12oz, and I ran the Jewel at 1lb, the Calvin feels heavier but the scale doesn't lie, I prefer the feel of the trigger shoe on the Calvin, tad wider and rounded edges, the safety on the Calvin is harder to move, no biggie for me because I hardly ever use it, the Jewel is way easier to adjust.

Yeah I had two of them that I had problems with, they got the routine maintenance when the guns got torn down completely. I think I am going to give one of the Timney a shot.

PM sent about getting one bought.........

I'm running a pair of Calvin Elites one on a Rem 700 the other on a DEFIANCE action. I prefer them to the Jewell I have run on another DEFIANCE for two years now.

The FEEL of the Calvin trigger appeals to me more.

That's why they have Chebbies and Ferds.

I have one of the Timney triggers on the way. We will see, hopefully about first part of November to have the rifle complete.
